Lively Rugby Journal

Editorial policy

Our aim is to explain rugby accurately and plainly. We separate established rules from interpretation, make the scope of an explanation clear and correct the record when we find an error.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual claims against reliable reference material appropriate to the subject and take care with terminology. We distinguish a law from a common tactic or an individual interpretation. Where competition rules or versions of the game may differ, we identify that limitation rather than imply one account applies everywhere.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader value and clarity. A commercial relationship does not determine what we say about rugby or guarantee favourable coverage. We do not present opinion as fact, and we avoid claims we cannot support.

Corrections

If you spot an error or an unclear explanation, contact us with the relevant article and passage. We review correction requests and, where a change is warranted, update the wording so readers can understand the corrected point.

Partnerships and illustrations

Material created with a partner is labelled clearly, and partner placements are identified as such. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; they are illustrative rather than evidence of a real match, player or event.

Our point of view

The game rewards a closer look.

Rugby can seem crowded at first. We slow down its terms, roles and decisions so readers can build understanding one clear idea at a time.
